We grew up with her in a tall, three-story house, and for most of her life those stairs were nothing to her. She ran up them to greet us, followed us down them at night, and claimed the top step as her own.
Near the end, everything changed. Her eyes clouded until she could barely see. Her legs grew weak and unsteady. And the stairs she had climbed a thousand times became the most frightening thing in her world. She would stand at the top, trembling, unsure of a path she once knew by heart.
We would have done anything to make her feel safe again. But when we went looking for help, we found cold, clinical gear that treated her like a medical problem instead of the family member she was.
So we started Sturdy Pup. Not to fix aging, because you can't, but to make it gentler. To give other families the simple, thoughtful things we wished we'd had for Wyllow: help to stay steady on the stairs, sure-footed on slippery floors, and comfortable in the home they love.
Everything we carry is chosen with her in mind. For the dogs who gave us their best years, and the people determined to make the years they have left feel safe, steady, and full of love.
